EUCHARISTIC MINISTERs
Be a part of giving God’s gift of Himself. As Catholic Christians, we believe that Christ is present in the Eucharist, and especially in the bread and wine which we take, bless, break, and share. Our Eucharistic Ministers get to be a part of that gift, making sure that everyone who gathers has what they need to receive the gift. LECTORs
God’s word in the Scriptures needs a human voice. Our proclaimers of the word take on the crucial role of helping God’s word be heard. At Mass, lectors proclaim the first and second readings. It’s more than just reading, however. Their prayer, preparation, and proclamation are a crucial part of our vibrant liturgies and helping God’s word be heard. ALTAR SERVERS
Liturgy can be complicated; altar servers make sure everything runs smoothly so God’s people can focus on worship. The primary responsibility of altar servers is to assist the priest at Mass on weekends, but servers also assist on some holy days, holidays, as well as at weddings and funerals. Volunteering to serve makes it easier for everyone to concentrate on the Mass and allows the server to have a deeper appreciation for what happens at Sunday worship. ushers and greeters
Every person who walks through the door of Our Lady of the Rosary parish should feel like they’re at home. Our greeters and ushers help make that happen. While we all have a role to play in welcoming every person who enters our doors, the greeters and ushers take that role in a special way. They are generally the first person that a parishioner meets upon entering church and set a welcoming tone in church. They are one of the faces of our parish during Mass as they handle the collections, assist during Mass as needed, and thank parishioners for coming at the end of Mass as they distribute church bulletins. SACRISTANS
A well-prepared Mass helps everybody focus on what’s important on Sundays. Our sacristan team makes sure that the details are in order so that everyone can focus on glorifying God. Sacristans are detail-oriented people who work behind the scenes to make sure all is ready for Mass, both in the sacristy and the sanctuary. With their focus on detail, they are the most important person you never see during Mass. The celebrant relies heavily on the sacristan. ART & ENVIRONMENT
The Art and Environment committee is dedicated to cultivating an atmosphere of spirituality, worship and reverence, enhancing the celebration of the Liturgy through the beautification of the church in accordance with the Liturgical calendar. They work behind the scenes to create a visual sense of God and community. The wall banners and flower arrangements in the Church are a few of the things this committee plans, creates, sets up and maintains. |
